Ayatollah Prepares His 4th Instrumental Album – “Drum Machine”
Known for producing Mos Def’s “Ms. Fat Booty” and the Styles P and Pharoahe Monch hit collaboration “My Life,” Queens, New York veteran has released several acclaimed albums of instrumentals. In the shadow of 2003′s self-released So Many Reasons To Rhyme and 2006′s Listen, the former Marley Marl-via- Tragedy Khadafi protege is planning to release his fourth such album. The release will come September 30, sold digitally through Brooklyn imprint Nature Sounds. The album is titled Drum Machine.
Wednesday, Ayatollah told HipHopDX, “With this instrumental series Drum Machine, I can say I put a lot more time and emotion into all the beats. This time around I was influenced by a lot of Soul music, so embrace this music with all you got because this is my way of telling stories.” The album features 22 tracks in total.
That same day, September 30, Nature Sounds is also releasing Termanology’s Politics As Usual.
808′s & Heartbreak Gets Pushed Up To November
This week, Kanye West announced that he will be moving up the release date for his fourth album, 808′s And Heartbreak. The information on the new release date was revealed via Kanye’s blog, KanyeUniverseCity.com
According to Kanye, the release date will be changed from December 16 to sometime in November.
“I changed my album to November something ’cause I finished the album and I felt like it. I want ya’ll to hear it as soon as possible,” Kanye revealed in his latest blog entry.
The change of dates, will move Kanye further away from the release date of 50 Cent’s new album, titled Before I Self Destruct, which is expected to be released on December 9.
Along with wrapping up his own album, Kanye will also be producing for artists such as Jay-Z and T.I.
