Royce Da 5’9″ Sheds Some Light On A Possible Slaughterhouse/Shady Records Deal
Upon being featured in a cameo capacity in the “Forever” video, rumors of Slaughterhouse negotiating a deal with Eminem‘s Shady Records began circulating the internet. Yesterday (Sept. 28), Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5’9″ lent some credence to those rumors.
“I’ve been talking to Em and Paul [Rosenberg, Eminem's manager] for a long time,” said Royce to MTV News. “With this particular situation, things are falling into place. Everything is in place where it’s supposed to be. I’m very prepared [for] when the opportunity presented itself. It’s a time where there’s things they need over here and certain things we need in order to move over there. I think it’s a good marriage. Like I said, I just hope it can happen.”
Royce and Eminem famously collaborated on “Bad Meets Evil” on Eminem‘s 1999 major-label debut, the Slim Shady LP. The two formed a group together bearing the same name as the song. The two became distant during the making of Dr. Dre‘s 1999 album, 2001, and had a falling out in 2002 around the time 50 Cent was signed to Shady/Aftermath.
The two Detroit emcees reconciled in 2008 following a controversy involving one of Eminem‘s Shady Records signees, Cashis
